We are happy to report that last week we hosted our first Latte Art Throwdown and it was a total success! For those of you who don’t know what a coffee competition looks like, we had 18 competitors from different coffee shops who were judged by a panel of 3 coffee experts on the quality of their latte art. It was great to get together with baristas from all around town and cheer on our friends.

The winners were: Stevie from Aviano taking first place, Will from Conscious Coffee in second, and Matt from Coda in third. All our competitors did a great job and our final three were extremely talented baristas. They were cheered on by large crowd of spectators and a playlist of love songs inspired by Valentine’s Day.

Everyone who competed took home a goodie bag from us and our winners received prizes donated by Great Divide Brewing Company, Espresso Parts, La Marzocco, and Pablo’s Coffee. The event was organized by our very own, Erica, who impressed us all with her planning and enthusiasm. Seriously, she put on a great event and her efforts were apparent from the decorations to the playlist.

The next throwdown is a big one. It happens on March 4th and 5th at Coda Coffee. There will be 64 competitors in this two day event and there are $10,000 worth of prizes available to the winners. It costs $20 to sign up at throwdown16.com.
